File upload into web server using Filezilla

To upload your file into Web server, you will need an FTP (File Transfer Protocol ) which is the software on your computer that connects with the server and copies the files.
FileZilla is a server that supports FTP and FTP over SSL/TLS which provides secure encrypted connections to the server.

PROCESS:

Step-1: Create a html file

Step-2: Connecting to an FTP server (using FileZilla)
1. Enter the address of the server in the “Host” box
2. Web server requires a username and password, enter them in the corresponding boxes
3. Do not need to enter a port number unless web hosting company specifies a particular port.
4. Click the Quickconnect button

1

Step-3: Navigating the Web server
After connecting FileZilla with the Web server, a list of files and folders will appear on the right side in the FileZilla window. The folder you have opened is listed in the box on top.

2

In the example, the folder “Public HTML” is opened. This is the main Web publication folder for this particular server, and any file placed in this folder will appear online.

The Web hosting company will be able to provide the name of the main publication folder. It will often be named “webroot,” “www,” “Public HTML,” “public_html” or “HTML.”

[Here has another folder called “..” displayed in virtually all of the folders on the Web server. Clicking this allows to go up one level to the parent folder of the one that currently have open.]

Step-4: Navigating the computer
1. Navigating the computer is similar to navigating the server. A list of files and folders will appear on the left side of the FileZilla window. The folder that has open is listed in the box on top. In the box below that will see the folder’s contents.
2. Then right click on this folder and uploaded the file.

3

Step-5: Uploading your slide show
You will now need to simply drag the “publish_to_web” folder from the lower-left box (your computer) and drop it into the lower-right box (the Web server). FileZilla will take a few moments to copy all of the files and folders, and the “publish_to_web” folder will appear in the box on the right.

4

You have now successfully uploaded your project to your Web server.

In the example above, the URL to view your project in a Web browser would be “http://www.mysite.com/publish_to_web.” You can also now rename the “publish_to_web” folder to whatever you want to call it by right-clicking on it (Ctrl+click on a single-button mouse) in the lower-right box and selecting “Rename.”

Note: Some Web server is case-sensitive, so “slideshow” is not the same as “SlideShow.”

Redirect after Contact Form 7 submission

Contact form 7 is most popular contact from maker plugin ever. It has many useful features to design forms with many styles. By default, Contact Form 7 submit forms via AJAX request , then show responses on the page but do not redirect to other pages. This work very well for most of the time. But, sometimes you might  need the user to redirect to other pages.

Reason to redirect user  to other pages:

  1.  You are making multistep flow for form submission.
  2. You want to make a very creative “Thank you” page.
  3. Processing payment with Contact from 7.
  4. You want to track form submission via google analytics etc.

Luckily, Contact form 7 have a built-in support for this. It is a hidden feature for Contact Form 7 as most the user will never need this. More appropriately, we should say this as advanced features. Cause only advanced level user will need this to use.

The Process

Redirecting users in contact form 7 is very easy. You just need  to follow this easy steps below:

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard => Contact; then select your form.
  2. On the form edit page find ‘additional settings’ tab.
  3. On the additional setting copy and paste the code below.

on_sent_ok:"location = '<Link to Redirect>';"

You have to replace <Link to Redirect> with your own URL.

Now, after successful submission of the form, the user will be redirected to your specified URL.

Add all devices in chrome for testing responsive site

Google chrome is one of the most awesome Browser in the world. Google Chrome has the responsive test feature also. We can add all the devices in the Google chrome browser for testing responsive design. To add all the device you need to follow these simple steps:

  1.  1
  2. Select mobile Icon as shown 2
  3. Click here 3
  4. Then click edit 4
  5. Here you can add all the possible devices in the world 5

Create a off canvas navigation with touch event using jQuery

We can create an awesome off canvas navigation with touch event using jQuery . You just need to follow these steps.

  1. We need to add some jquery library for this.
  2.  Include jquery.min.js (Main jQuery library)
  3. Include jQuery Mobile 1.4.5 (You will find the file : https://jquerymobile.com/download/)
  4. Include modernizr for detecting touch mobile devices. (https://modernizr.com/download?touchevents-setclasses)
  5. Include a custom js file for Write  some extra data
  6. Use: <body data-role=”page” id=”pageone”>
  7.  Add a main wrapper which contains the whole body element like :
    <div data-role=”main” class=”ui-content”>….</div>
  8. Add Mobile Navigation Button
    <span class=”mobile-navigation hidden-sm hidden-md hidden-lg” onclick=”openNav()”>
    <i class=”fa fa-bars” aria-hidden=”true”></i>
    </span>
  9. Also in the mobile menu you use, you need to add the close button too like:
    <a href=”javascript:void(0)” class=”closebtn” onclick=”closeNav()”>&times;</a>
  10. Sidebar Navigation must be starts
    <div id=”mySidenav” class=”sidenav”>Mobile menu Need to be create Here</div>
  11. Now for working process for these buttons add a little Custom jQuery in custom js file :
    function openNav() {
    $(“#mySidenav”).css({“left”: “0%”, “transition”: “left .4s”});
    }function closeNav() {
    $(“#mySidenav”).css({“left”: “-100%”, “transition”: “left .4s”});
    }
  12. And the CSS will be
    .sidenav {
    height: 100%;
    width: 100%;
    position: fixed;
    z-index: 10;
    top: 0;
    left: -100%;
    background-color: #f5f5f5;
    overflow-x: hidden;
    transition: 0.5s;
    padding-top: 60px;
    border-right: 1px solid #e9e9e9;
    }
    .sidenav .closebtn {
    position: absolute;
    top: 0;
    right: 20px;
    font-size: 36px;
    }
  13. Now For mobile touch event:
    1. First we need to detect the devices which allow touch. For that we use modernizr js file. And need to create a simple if…else Condition Like:
    if (Modernizr.touchevents) {
    //if the device is supported touch
    } else {
    //if the device is not supported touch
    }2. Then we need to enable the touch swipe for tell the device that which touch event is happens. That’s why we need to include the jQuery Mobile 1.4.5 JS file.
    3. Now we need to add some event for the menu. We need to write the code inside the if…else condition like:
    if (Modernizr.touchevents) {
    $(document).on(“pagecreate”,”#pageone”,function(){
    $(“html”).on(“swiperight”,function(){
    $(“#mySidenav”).css({“left”: “0%”, “transition”: “left .4s”});
    });
    });
    $(document).on(“pagecreate”,”#pageone”,function(){
    $(“html”).on(“swipeleft”,function(){
    $(“#mySidenav”).css({“left”: “-100%”, “transition”: “left .4s”});
    });
    });
    } else {
    //Do nothing…..
    }
